Patients meet with clinicians at least once weekly for individual therapy treatment. Emphasis is placed on teaching and applying coping skills.
Residents 12 and older may be treated for substance use disorders. Therapy includes education and prevention as well as incorporating the 12-step model.
Group therapy is held twice weekly and allows residents to share issues and feelings that relate back to their individualized treatment plans.
SandyPines accepts referrals from parents and family members, professionals, schools, child welfare agencies, and other organizations, both in state and out of state.

Our Sea Turtle Children’s Unit offers behavioral health treatment for children ages 5–12, in a safe and secure therapeutic environment.
SandyPines provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary behavioral health treatment to adolescents ages 12–17. We offer five adolescent-specific units.
SandyPines believes in the importance of family involvement in treatment. We offer a number of regular opportunities for children and adolescents to connect with their family members during residential treatment.
Riverbend Academy, located on SandyPines’ campus, is an accredited school under the jurisdiction of the Martin County School District.
